The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra www.uniag.sk (hereinafter as “SUA) is a top educational and scientific institution with main aim to provide students with a university education, drawing on scientific knowledge in agriculture and neighbouring areas, as well as on creative scientific research. Due to the fact it is the only university of its kind in Slovakia, it has acquired a unique, national status.
The main mission of the University is to offer education, research and advisory services which would create conditions for the development of agriculture and related fields. Meeting these aims contribute to the educational, scientific, technical and economic growth of the society.
At the present, the SUA offers university education in 3 levels of degree programmes: Bachelor’s ( “BSc.”), Engineer’s (Master’s) - award “Ing.”, and the third level: Doctoral- award “PhD”.
SUA consists of 6 faculties:

Faculties of SUA offers 40 study programmes within 24 fields of study at the first (bachelor) level, 31 study programmes within 19 fields of study at the second (master) level and 21 study programmes within 20 fields of study at the third (PhD.) level.
At the moment 6976 students are studying at internal form and 2920 students at external form of study.
Study programmes at SUA are in Slovak language but faculties offer selected study programmes also in English language. Thu university has 1200 employes, 490 of them are teachers.
SUA is an active participant of numerous national and international scientific and educational projects. Actively is involved in 6,7 FP ,Cost, programmes within the Life Long Leraning Programme, CEEPUS, Visegrad Fund, educational projects financed by Structural Funds, the Erasmus, Erasmus Mundus, The EU-US Atlantis programe, the Jean Monnet programe,etc.
International cooperation of the university is very wide spread, SUA has agreements about cooperation in the field of education and research with more then 200 universities from all over the world.
